Seminar on 'Android'
A one day seminar on 'Introductin to Android' was
organized at MCA, U C College by FOSS Cell on January 13,2012. The session included History ,Android
Environment,resources,Building User Interfaces, Working with Menus
,Understanding the Media Frameworks,Future of Android etc.It was handled by
experts from Focuz Infotech.
Computer Training Programme for Senior citizens
The 'Outreach and Women Empowerment Cell' conducted a 4-day hand-on-training
programme on 'MS Word and Applications of Internet ' from Dec 19-22,2011
in the MCA Lab.The programme was meant for senior citizens staying in Chacko
homes and nearby residential area.
Python Workshop
A three day workshop on Python Programming was
organized from Dec 15-17, 2011 by the
IIPC Cell of MCA jointly with
Kerala State Council for Science,Technology and Environment.The workshop focused to generate a pool of trainers who
can later train their students in the use of Python programming and as such is a
“Train-the-Trainers” program. Prof.Ignatious Kunjumon,Director CIRM,CUSAT was
the resource person.
Alumni Reunion Day
Alumni Reunion day was held on 29th October 2011 at the MCA Seminar Hall.Dr A M Chacko, Manager, U C College inaugurated the function and Dr A Benny Cherian, Bursar delivered the presidential address. Prof P C Cherian, Former Head of the Department, MCA delivered the Key Note Address. Assistant Prof. Shine K George, Dr. Sheela Kumari Issac, Coordinator and Mr. Shanavas B, Vice President, Alumni felicitated the students. Vote of thanks was given by Mrs.Sumitha Varghese, General Secretary, Alumni.
